Physioxia Station in NICPB
With the support of the RAKERA infrastructure project, the Chemical Biology Group at NICPB now has a Physioxia Station.
The station makes it possible to grow cell cultures under precisely controlled oxygen concentrations, enabling studies of the effects of hypoxia and hyperoxia. Most importantly, it allows cells to be cultured at oxygen levels that are characteristic of specific tissues—typically around 5% oxygen, rather than the approximately 19% oxygen used in standard cell culture conditions.
