Bioanalysis Center

The Bioanalysis Center (BAC) at the National Institute of Chemical Physics and Biophysics (NICPB) works to bring the institute’s scientific expertise to practical use and to build strong collaborations with companies in the biotechnology sector.

Bioanalysis center performs state-of-the-art chemical analysis at the largest and most diverse nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR) laboratory in the Baltics.
BAC offers the region’s leading expertise and experience in analyzing the composition of substances and chemicals, molecular structures, and, more broadly, the structure of matter.

From the functional analysis perspective, the use of high-resolution respirometry and complementary techniques allows researchers to uncover the causes of reduced muscle performance, monitor treatment effectiveness, track how drugs and their carriers move within cells, and assess their effects and side effects on cellular energy metabolism. These methods are also applied to study how environmental substances affect cells and their functions.
